Pairing: Music and Events

electronica

What type of music should you get to your networking event? How to know if your music selection is adequate and is promoting the networking?
On the past days I've read an article about how to pair music with your publicity, there were 4 tips. So this make me realize that I shall write about my suggestions on how to select music to get into your networking event:
  • Birthday party, wedding, family reunion, among others:
Watch out what kind of people will be invited to your party, their ages and cultural backgrounds. Consider having an eclectic music with all type of rhythms and styles. If you expect people to dance, the selection should include a little more of variety, so you can thrill your guests. Have a special care about the microphones, you may finish having the reduced version of Elton John at your party.
  • Opening, Cocktail, Presentation, Exposition:
cocktail
It's important to consider that in this meetings what you pretend is to make people talk with each other, even more if it's a promotional event, you may want to make people to talk about your new product. So have some background music that its low and preferentially instrumental, so you may have the people talking without feeling nervous.
  • Political Campaign, Sports event:
Use music that it's on the top lists of the moment, something strong, make a lot of noice, you want to bring up attention to this event. Regularly this events are outdoor and in big spaces, so you may have to contract some extra speakers and a DJ that enlightens your event.

  • Intimate meeting, Some friends, Barbecue:
carne asada
Use the music you like the most, on the type and format you more like, because the meeting is small, you may have a conversational theme with your friends. Seize the moment and ask about their particular musical taste, speak about the tendencies of that type of musical genre, their singers, etc. This could be used to present your musical taste and to know about some other types of music.

Team Networking

Soccer match at 5:00pm, at the end of the city, my kids are at school and I can't get out of the office, what should I do?, Easy: Networking.
At the beginning of the academic year, my kids chose to participate with the Soccer team, that means I should take them to every match they had. This make me realize that the logistics needed where from easy to top notch, thanks to many new developed skills, today mom's are really good planners, so I can tell you about my experience.
Once the team was registered, Lucy organized a whats app group, she send out the information on the kids and moms. Then it was easy to cover the "meal" for each match, just follow the list, and when it ended, we started again.
When the tournaments begin, the school sent the location, and we realized that some of the courts were far far far away, and for some of us it will be difficult to take the kids to each match. Then Zazyl bring out the idea to contact a bus company and we all agreed to rent the service. It was economic and ecologic and the kids had a lot of fun on their way to each match.

Cheermoms
When we met at each game to support the team, we became on the official "cheerleaders", before that no one of us will consider to participate in cheering, but for the kids, we do almost anything. The experience eventually became really fun for all of the "cheermoms".

One day I had a lot of office work, so I couldn't take my kids to the game, I just make  my petition to the universe (whats app group) and Martha answered that she could help me, furthermore she offered dinner to my son. Laura and Gaby organized birthday parties and of course the cheermoms and the kids went to Gotcha and Pool parties.
When Josefina said out loud, we should gather together just to chat, we went on to a restaurant, and had a lovely time for ourselves, without the kids or husbands. I will not share specific details, but just know that we had better bonding friendship.

At the end of the season, we had in our year several, dinners, pool parties, games, business communications among other. Some of the kids change their after classes and leave the team, but the original cheermom group kept together.
So I share with you some things that I learnt with this original group:

1.- First, have a directory with all your friends information, coordinate and make a group in a social network and start communicating.
2.- As usual, see your friends with goodwill eye, if someone had a special request, support her, eventually this person could pay it forward to somebody else.
3.- Have fun, the goodwill friends (cheermoms) become experts in sharing news and tips and they are always a good source of happiness.

Sports Networking

Hello!
I have the fortune to know some rookies competing in different sports, and until today they are building for themselves a future at their speciality. The first boy I like to speak to you is Juan Pablo, current mexican champion of kart racing (go-karts), he is actually 8 years old, and has been competing for 2 years, his racing idol is Michael Schumacher. When I speak to his parents about Juan Pablo's skills, I understood the importance it makes for both parents to do networking to support their children's progress.

Juan Pablo with his "supporting team"
Juan Pablo's father now is studying mechanics and chemistry in order to help his kid to have a better equipment for the race. On Karts racing, the vehicle represents 50% of the race, the other 50% is the pilot. So you'll imagine that because of Juan Pablo's age this support that his father is reallizing is fundamental. His dad now is part of the mechanic team, and additionaly manages the public relations, the international affairs, academic support when he travels, among other activities.
When his parents shared with us, Juan Pablo's victories, really proud from his particular performance, the people at the meeting were really interested in conforming a supporting team. In exchange we asked Juan Pablo to take a picture with us, so we can relate that we were there before he is worldwide known.
The other story I'd like to share has to do with a couple of brothers, I met them since the day they were born. They both are really into the mountain bike, and have competed in different levels nationally. They have a very good performance and they both get some sponsors, also by competing they get the economic reward.
Their parents also have done a lot of concesions to make them get into this competitions, like first perfomance training, trips to diffierent locations. They both train about 4 hours daily and up to 8 hours on weekends. Considering that they are between the 15 and 17 years old, and accumulating performance credits, soon we will be listening on their achievements in this sport.

Their father tell us that he also had learned on some nutritional facts also post-training massages, suggested always by his acquintances made by networking.

So I Ieave you with the recommendations to promote your sports networking mindset, eventhough we are not implicated at the sport performance:

1.- Ask for help of other people that show interest in your son's skills, more than one will be proud to help on the development of a gifted child.
2.- Use your new contacts among your competitors, asking them on their skills, hobbies or other issues related can make your competence more fun, and you will learn some tips.
3.- Joining a specific team to practice your favorite sport will bring you some business opportunities, take advantage and relate to your new sports networking.
